The Interceptor is a stable to overstable approach mid. It's made out of a soft, durable rubber. It was designed to be the perfect approach & layup disc- it will stick where it lands! The Interceptor has more weight around the rim and a thinner flight plate, giving you great grip on a soft rubber disc. It has a small groove on the flight plate, creating the perfect grip for forehand or backhand throws.
The all new ecoFLEX and ecoFLOP from Elevation are both made of vulcanized natural rubber, and while their original rubbers, OG and Newcomer, were silicone rubber. These new materials will bolster our lineup in the following ways:
1)
ecoFLOP is made up of 30% recycled material made with post-consumer tires. Elevation has been wanting to incorporate recycled content into their materials from the start, but it is a little more complex to use recycled material with rubber, so they are happy to have found a way!
2.) ecoFLOP offers fantastic grip and doesn't pick up dust/dirt as easily as OG and Newcomer do!
3.) ecoFlop is very strong, should be less susceptible to being punctured by sharp objects, and has incredible durability. While people are used to recycled discs being less durable, but these are the opposite!
In other words, every 10,000 discs we produce we get to take 130 used tires out of the world's landfills. Again, this is not your average recycled disc, our eco-materials maintain incredible durability thanks to the uniquely strong characteristics of rubber. It is also super grippy (think the tires of your car) and has a floppiness somewhere between ecoFLEX and OG, so your disc will flop onto the ground and grip to where it lands.
